A few actors.

Yeah, but the poor bastard invested half a grand of his own money. As for Mrs Ross, aka Jane Goldman, she's a journo in her own right. Maybe not brilliant, but she has written other stuff. And Stardust wasn't too bad.

I know Ben Affleck and Matt Damon did the script for Good Will Hunting. But that was pretty decent. And massive faced Minnie Driver was quite sexy in it.
I was thinking of Emma Thompson and the big fat posh bloke from Monarch of the Glen and the ilk.
The Incredible Ilk was it?
Are you thinking of Gosford Park by Julian Fellowes?
That's the Johnny.
What about Rocky, or Rambo?

Didn't Sylvester Stallone get an Oscar for his Rocky screenplay. And the Rocky films are great, anyway.

Well, its not a question of whether theyre good or not, just if the writer had any pedigree.

Fair enough. I guess my point is screenplay writing doesn't seem as celeb obsessed as say the book industry, which will genuinely give the likes of Geri Haliwell and Jordan big advances just to put their names on the front of books.
Having said which, there's f**k all money in book publishing, and I can't imagine Geri's made a lot from her shitty books. The publishers can afford to do a small print run of a book without going under, on the gamble that the celebrity name might make them a bit of money. Nobody's going to fund a fifty-million blockbuster written by a Spice Girl.

You can say that again!

I love it when you fall into line behind me, Griff.
Hey I never disagreed on this point. Nobody seriously cites Shane Richie as evidence for anything.
