Just got back from the zoo. We stopped by the art museum on the way home. The Renoirs and Picassos were lovely, but I really enjoyed the miniatures from 'The Nightmare Before Christmas.' Cool stuff.
Ah, the weekend! Page 51

Was that the moment when the kids suddenly started feeling tired from their day out?
My daughter is 21 and enjoys museums as much as I do, but she did bitch about the blisters from her new shoes. But how can you complain about a daughter who says, "Hey, let's stop at the pub on the way home?"

Ohhhh, I thought you meant little kids! Well that's different then!
Did she actually say 'pub'?? Or is that a Babelfish translation from U.S to Brit?

Oops, she's actually 22. My son is 21. Glad she doesn't visit here or I'd never hear the end of it.
It's an actual pub. It's a chain, but somewhat authentic. A few decent beers, football (both types) on the big screens and passable food. Too smoky, however.
Fulham vs. Blackburn were on. I don't know anything about either one, but my ex-wife's name is now Blackburn, so I was cheering for Fulham. And my alma mater were playing (and trouncing) Tennessee at the same time, so it was all good.
You can smoke in there!?!
That is not very authentic any more.
Texas is one of the few states where you can still smoke in restaurants and bars. Most places (including the branch of this pub closest to my house) have segregated smoking and non-smoking areas, but this pub is too small to have a walled-off place for smokers. The most obnoxious smokers seemed to have British accents, by the way.
Several cities in Texas have done away with smoking. I hope the whole state follows suit soon. It's nasty and now I feel like I need a shower.
I worked last weekend, so I decided to stay home from work the next 5 days. It feels like Friday, so I'm doing Friday things: listening to loud music and drinking beer. Cheers!
Awww I'm jealous. Can I have a beer DaButt? Did you make snake soup for dinner?
I'm going to the cinema two nights in a row this weekend. I've never done that before!
Enjoy your long weekend DaButt! Have a corndog for me.
I'll have a Pogo myself in the honor of your long weekend. *looks around* or maybe not this house seems to have no meet in it.
