I know you can die from flu if 'fragile'. People normally get colds.

Flu is the mega bad one where you almost die. Literally.
A cold is just the normal runny nose, sometimes headaches, cough, sore throat, etc.
Ah. So 99% of people who claim to have had the flu, haven't.

I did tell my boss 'I have a cold' (which he could see). But Man Flu sounds better. 
I need someone to make me Lemsip, and rub Vicks Vapour Rub into my chest.

Yes. Relatively few people will ever catch influenza at all. Certainly not the two or three times a year most of us catch colds. You'd almost certainly die if you had it that often.

I would not recommend eating Vicks Vapour Rub. I would not recommend it at all.
