Remember laughing a lot as a kid at 'The Gaffer'... f**k knows what that was about.

Old fashioned wheeler dealer running run down factory and always trying to get one over on his competitors/staff. IMO one of Bill Maynard's finest hours. Drove a beat up Rover 3000 as I recall . . .

Also, what about 'Cowboys' with Roy Kinnear? Similar story line and just loved Janine Duvitski . . . . :D

Well what do you want us to say? Both. It's a masterpiece. Great writing, and Rossiter is simply superb. Do you want a breakdown, line-by-line, of every script?

Yes please. Come on, chop f**king chop!

Was the show any good last night? Were there any utterly irrelevant talking heads?

Quote: Jack Massey @ September 23 2008, 9:54 PM BST

Agreed. The scripts were superb and as was Rossiter's acting, as was the acting of messrs: Warrington, Beckinsale and De La Tour.
Favourite episodes, anyone? Mine's A Night Out.

Frances De La Tour was a keen cyclist and once completed the Tour De France cycling backwards.

I agree with you, I have never got it either.

I preferred Reginald Perrin personally.

That's what I'm talking about. Not just me then. Thank you Richard!

Ian Wright again. He appears to be on there as some sort of barometer of the portayal of ethnicity throughout the years.

And June Sarpong again. Although it did actually sound as if she used to watch it. I hope so.

And that Anthony Cotton of Coronation Street.

And that Anthony Cotton of Coronation Street.

His contributions were particularly pointless.

His contributions were particularly pointless.

Just like my wife's tits.

:O

Yes, he mainly told us about the time he ran past her house and shouted...

A running gag, no doubt. Bastard.

Ha.

I still love him though. Having appeared in the best TV show of all time. (not Coronation Street.)

I've heard of 'Not The Nine o'clock News but not 'Not Coronation Street'.

It's new...

Yes, anyway, we're going off-topic now. :)
