Inappropriate funeral music Page 3
Quote: Aaron @ September 22 2008, 11:51 PM BSTJust what I was thinking. Is there any really impartial news service?
Thank you!
The BBC website seems quite neutral.
I always used to use the term FOTWE
Freedom fighter or terrorist what ever.
But it made me sound more of a dick than usual.

True about the website. Some of it is a bit slanted at times, but for the most part it's fairly balanced, you're right.
I've already instructed my nearest and dearest to play Python's "The Galaxy Song" at my funeral. I can't think of anything more fitting, plus it's quite a jolly little tune which I'd really like to burn to.
I always remember an interview with an IRA prisoner.
Who said the guards humiliated him by searching his wifes' bra, and his sons' nappy when he visited.
Interviewer then asked how he smuggled in the bullets that were used to shoot a guard.
In my sons' nappy.
Irrespective of your views on the situation.
I've never seen a more crystal example of how we perceive events.
AC/DC: Back in Black
or "Highway to Hell"?
In case of lightning victims - "Thunderstruck".
I'd love to go with The Beatles 'A Day in a Life'.
There are so many inappropriate choices for a funeral song in metal music, I cannot begin to list them
I wrote a song called "f**k her 'til she dies" which might be suitable.
I wrote this in 1976 at the height of punk btw. (Our band was called "tart got fukt!")
I'd tone the lyric down a bit now, I guess, to "f**k it 'til it bleats" (dig the animal reference?)
I always kind of wished they'd played Michael Jackson's 'Dirty Diana' at Princess Di's funeral.
I'm planning on being cremated (not any time soon, though) so how about:
I'm On Fire - Bruce Springsteen
or:
Disco Inferno - The Trammps
or even:
The Unforgettable Fire - U2

Or "Crash" by the Primitives
"Here you go way too fast
If you don't slow down you're gonna crash"
What a Waster - The Libertines.
Or even Tom Jones & The Cardigans' version of Burning Down The House.
I want to be buried though, so perhaps the theme tune to One Foot In The Grave.
And sooty, that's ace. Still better than he deserved, IMO.

Ace track.
Disco Inferno is one me and the wife liked.
Get the mourners to sing the chorus: "Burn Baby Burn!"
