Kate Bush - so wrong, yet so right. Page 2

Careful, I hear Griff is a big time Shania Twain fan. He ran her fanclub for a while.

How many octaves can Kate cover? I like to know nerdy things like that.

I just checked, it's a 4 octave range.

Ooh, the Les Dogs appearance was good, throughout.

This is a spectacularly good and lavish live appearance on Wogan: preposterous yet class. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_7IjIp2DZI

'Ephemeral' strikes me as a rather mean thing to say about a pop star - do you think Terry meant 'ethereal'?

That is a spectacularly random accusation.

My other half actually does like Shania Twain. Suffice it to say we have separate ITunes libraries.

Is she better than the late, great Freddie though?!

Hard to say. Both brilliant creative geniuses with amazing voices. But you'd have to say Freddie had the edge. He's got to be up there with the greatest performers ever.

Laughing out loud

And Wogan had that odd look of surprise as if he'd just had a root vegetable inserted for his cue.

You lick bronze statues of famous potatoes.

Ssssh.

I wouldn't mind but it's my ruddy statue.

Freddie was a performer - a real show-off - whereas Kate was quite introverted and you could probably count her live performances on your fingers and toes (if you're a bit of a freak).

I was reading earlier that she only did one proper tour. After that it was just one offs.

Went to see Peter Gabriel at Earls Court in 1987, at the end he sang "Don't Give Up"... He was on stage on his own until Kate's voice rang out and she appeared at the top of the stairs at the back of the set... freaking fantastic moment....

I'd forgotten how beautiful she was. Not a huge aficiando of her work but utterly love her popular stuff.

Didn't she have a new album out a couple of years ago? Might have to check iTunes...

That is a damn good track.

I don't know all her work, but This Woman's Work, Wuthering Heights, Don't Give Up and Running Up That Hill are amazing tracks, the first two particularly.

That must have been bloody brilliant!

Peter Gabriel is a legend too.

Yes - I bought it but being a double album it takes more effort to get into it.
