The original version was the best. The line works better after they enter, as it gives a pause, allowing the gist of it to sink in. Also, there's no need to shoehorn muslims, blacks, or the kitchen sink into it.

I was rather returning to the original, yes. Possibly some of the other ideas could be used in a runner-type thing. Those involving minorities such as blacks, muslims and sinks (but not Norse) shall be discarded. Thanks Bad Dog.
I think keeping sketches simple does work. Sometimes you can tweak something until you lose the original, and it turns into something else.
