But I have to admit I have often made inane comments and then deleted them quickly. Of course, there are also all those inane comments I never got around to deleting... 
I've done it too. As long as I have my 'edit' button I'll be happy.
If you do it straight away it's fine, but if people have replied, it's just kind of rude to delete half of a conversation, I think.
I've left up all the stupid unfunny quips and half arsed comments I've made, I think it's only right that everyone else does the same!
