Accents you hate! (or like..) Page 9

Were are you from originally Gav...?

Sean Connery and Patrick Stewart have the greatest accent. It's just calls out "I'm smarter than you North Americans but I'm too civilized to actually say it thus I use this accent to remind you".

I was also in love with Daphne from Frasier when I was a kid. I had a teacher with the same accent in grade school and I would close my eyes pretending she was Daphne...unfortunately when I opened them I saw an elderly woman with blue hair.

I'll look him up

He was in Goodnight Sweetheart too (for reference).

Oh, I know him from that Alan Davies drama series thingy.

A Many Splintered Thing

You think I sound like I'm from up North!

You do sound Welsh Gav.

Yes! You had his exact accent. (at least at the meetup.) :)

(He's not Welsh, he's... a spy or something.)

I like the Suffolk accent. It is a shame that Suffolk people are often ridiculed and thought to be thick. I think this is partly due to them having their own phrases and sayings, which can be very hard to understand. This varies from village to village. They are particularly fond of double negatives, e.g. 'I doubt not' and 'I int not gonna do it.' I've never seen a film where they get the accent right.

Does anyone here unintentionally copy the accent of someone they are talking to?
