I do like a New Zealand accent, too. Makes me laugh.

And Bill Bailey did something in one of his shows about a West Country accent, that was quite cute.

Does anyone here unintentionally copy the accent of someone they are talking to?

I do, but only in my head. Like I start accidentally thinking in their accent, but not talking.

That doesn't make sense.
I know what I mean...

Yes, I know what you mean. I have a terrible habit of copying accents. I really don't mean to do it. It's quite embarrassing.

I do that it's iffuriating. People think your taking the piss.

I'm so glad I am not the only one. I really upset someone once but didn't find out for ages what I had done. She thought I was taking the P.

I lived in the woods with only two Newfies (From the Canadian province of Newfoundland) for an entire summer. There accents were so thick I honestly (not kidding honestly) did not understand the majority of what they were saying to me.
Imagine an accent that is a mix of the Canadian that sounds like in the movie Fargo mixed with an Irish accent..and a bit of french. Yea Their accents are messed! Plus they have a million phrases that don't make sense to me. Sounds almost like Brad Pitt in Snatch.
Anyways long story short; I came back to civilization at the end of the summer with an accent,Newfie phrases and humorous stories that amused my friends and family for a while. Here is a good example what they sound like
With all that said I have to say I have yet to meet a Newfie I didn't like. Straight up funny and nice folks.

My ultimate love accent is Irish.

I don't like Indian accents. (sorry if I offend anyone).

Got to admit... I love a well spoken English gentleman though!

I never understood how anyone could find the Irish accent attractive I used to live on a council estate with a bunch of them drove me dull.

Well, there's different Irish accents?
Maybe they had the wrong one!

I love the one Sean Hughes has. And Aidan Gillen.

I hate Welsh accent. Reeks of stupidity.

Oooo. I like a Northern accent in German (if that counts). It sounds a bit English. :)
