Hearst, you dummies. William Randolph Hearst.

Haha! Oh okay now you mention it, Hearst does indeed ring a bell.

Whatever happened to Lee Hurst anyway?

Quote: Nil Putters @ September 20 2008, 1:54 AM BST

Ha! I'm remember that too. D&D *shakes head* The hours I wasted.

Laughing out loud I actually miss it. It was good cheap fun...that no one outside my nerd friends were allowed to know I partook in. Unimpressed

Ah, White Dwarf before it became a Warhammer rag. I remember it well.

Huzzah the noble Bandage rides to my rescue!

Back in the day it was a sort of all in scifi mag, computer mag, rag bag.

Though I know there is no defence when Griff smells blood.

He was on something tonight! On Five?

Were you a sensitive bully perchance?

Playing a beautiful elven mage, and giving the geeks wedgies if they told on your secret sensitive side.

Though I know there is no defence when Griff smells blood.

Hey what you do in your own time is your business. It's just when you start making inaccurate claims about it being "not geeky", and even "cool", the proofreader in me reaches for the red ink.

:O
Oh!
That bloody quiz thing!
With that other one who has really curly hair.

Which is a bit cruel really. Hairwise.

Quote: zooo @ September 20 2008, 1:52 AM BST

I don't know, as I don't know who or what Hurst is. Some rich guy?

Ah. Yes. Although it's Hearst, not Hurst. I'm awful with names. (And yet I know Aguilera. Hm.)

Anyway, yeah. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Randolph_Hearst

It is indeed meant to be based on him, although I have never seen it or know anything about it either. I just know that he built a huge castle in California - out of concrete. I refer to it as a Pretender's Paradise. It's now a US National Park I think. Quite impressive some of it, but much of the rest is nothing special.

He did, however, know how to control things. No alcohol in the house! Score! :)

Whatever happened to Lee Hurst anyway?

He does that thing on Channel Five now. It was on earlier. It's a bit pooey. It's hosted by Brigstocke though, so to be expected.

Should have known YOU'd know him. ;)

They seemed to be doing something Sciencey.

I thought I'd remembered that Lee Hurst was really ill. Have I made that up?

Why do I sometimes think that in a totalitarian state, you'd be one of the first in a uniform?

Also he runs a very successful comedy club.

No, apparently he went all mental and closed his comedy club down or something.

Quote: Griff @ September 20 2008, 2:02 AM BST

Also he runs a very successful comedy club.

Didn't he close it down very suddenly though, relatively recently?

There's Nothing Wrong With Having Standards.

I knew it!

But no, before that - I thought he had a wasting disease or something.
