I was just wondering what folks experiences were like in sending scripts to Babycow productions, anyone make any headway?
Babycow
I was going to send my script to Baby Cow, but I think they'd tell me it was too similar to Ideal, which they also produce.
who have you sent it to instead? have you tried Angeleye?
I haven't sent it to anyone yet. I come up with new ideas every day, and can't seem to stop tweaking my script. What I really need is a deadline - which is why I'm seriously thinking about sending one of the episodes to the makers of Comedy Lab. The closing date for sending scripts is October 31st, which means I've only got 6 more weeks to get it finished.
By the way, what shows have Angeleye produced?
nothing of real strength- a few sitcoms here and there nothing spectacular though
I've sent a couple of things to Babycow in the past and they were always fairly nifty in getting back to say "NO!".
Whilst no real classics so far, Angel Eye have produced All Bar Luke, which is one of the better Radio 4 sitcoms, in my opinion. They are also really nice to deal with, as is discussed elsewhere around here.
Dan
I sent a script to Babycow on 5 February this year in the manner they specify and never got an answer until 29 August. So seven months for me.
Def.
Late last year, still waiting. Was Manchester mind.
Maybe they've filnmed it.
sent 10 pages twice and both times been asked for the whole script within 2 weeks of sending. found them very prompt and pleasant to deal with compared to others who just ignore.

What was there response to the full scripts?
If you send it to Manchester, it will reach Ric Michael. He works in a small office, inside the BBC. It would take him ages to read through all the scripts that are sent to him.

I don't think Ric actually works at Baby Cow anymore.

I believe that a man with the moniker of John works there now and handles scripts.

No, that's just where they put your scripts.
