*re-reads* Oh yeah, good one.

Welcome to Obama-mania, Brazil-style. Few countries have embraced the idea of the US's first black president as enthusiastically as Brazil, a country with one of the largest Afro-descendant populations on Earth yet where black faces remain a minority in politics. Obama T-shirts are everywhere while chat shows and newspaper columns are filled with talk of the 47-year-old Illinois senator.
Now even Brazil's politicians are lining up for their piece of the pie. Due to a quirk of Brazilian law, candidates are allowed to run under the name of their choice. As a result, at least six Brazilian politicians have officially renamed themselves "Barack Obama" in a bid to get an edge over their rivals in October's municipal elections.
Oh deary, deary me!
Hasn't Sarah Palin taken the edge of Obama mania already? Suddenly the Democrats look a bit tired and slow-footed while the Republicans have a zing back in their step.
There's plenty more mud to be slung. 48 more days and it'll all be over. Thank God.
We here in Canada are in the middle of a Federal election. The Conservative Party of Canada is trying to win a majority (because right now they have a minority government).
The leader of the Newfoundland (Provincial) Conservative Party Danny Williams ABSOLUTELY HATES Steven Harper (the current Conservative Prime Minister) so much that he started a campaign against him that he has decided to take across Canada called ABC "Anything But Conservative" and had to register it as a party because he spent more money advertising than is allowed in Canadian politics without being a party.
Here is the website: http://anythingbutconservative.ca/
I know his reasons for being angry but besides that I think it's pretty funny stuff.
Williams is a pretty extreme guy, apparently he donates his entire paycheck as Premier of Newfoundland to charity because he doesn't want or need it. The guy is just a hard core patriot of his Province. Here is a photo of the guy:
Vote Haaaarper!!!!

Damn it I knew I should have posted this picture of him instead of the kitten picture:
Aw. An uncomfortable cowboy. Love it.
He looks like he's got his dad's hat on.
And his mum's knickers.
