Top 3 Over rated British sitcoms. Page 5

I've got a great nostalgic admiration for the first two series Red Dwarfs...just the classic bunker scenes between Lister and Rimmer really set up the entire series...the battleship grey living quarters and generally crapness of the special effects is endearing.

Dad's Army I've never really got into...but I fear dissmissing it because of its untouchable status.

What are the forums views on Coupling? Personally despite the insanley attractive stars and glossy finish they are some cracking jokes and chracter work in there. Specially from Jeff-denying that he collects women's ears in a bucket being a particular highlight. I s'pose Coupling has never really been rated by the majority of the British public. Don't get me wrong its not even in my top 10 but I do enjoy it now and then...

Father Ted is the best British sitcom ever. Flawless.

Coupling is ace.

Yes, but I'm not sure many British sitcoms have been valued by the public in the last decade or so. Recent gems like Peep Show, The Mighty Boosh, Pulling and even The Office, have made little or no impact upon the wider public. The big well loved and well watched shows in recent years have all been stuff like Frost, Life on Mars or Midsummer Murders. Sitcoms just don't seem to permeate the national consciousness the way they did twenty or thirty years ago.

You don't have to sound embarrased about it. :)

Coupling is the one of the finest crafted, well plotted and funniest sitcoms ever.

(And yes, all the stars are gorgeous!)

What she means is 'only Jeff is gorgeous, the rest pale in comparison'.

Hmmm, I don't know:

Jeff, Patrick or Steve; Steve, Patrick or Jeff; Patrick.......

Hang on, I'll be a while. :)

JEFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

:)

And maybe whichever one was in This Life.

Jeff was the best thing about Coupling. His ramble about his 'bucket of ears' was brilliant. It was a shame he left.

That *was* a brilliant moment! That whole episode is a perfect example of what I said above.

Ah Steve. I liked him better in This Life though. But didn't he play more of a tool in that? Weird.

Yes - he was a nicer person in Coupling.

I was surprised when I found out he was married to Michelle Gomez. She gets to kiss Guy Secretan and call it work then go home to Steeeeve. I hate her.

Ah, he likes girls called Gomez, eh? Innnnteresting...

Laughing out loud Get in there!

He is a gateway to Jeff!

What happened to Richard Coyle? He was in a supernatural type thing. And a film set in Wales. I haven't seen him since. In fact, he seems to have done the worst out of all the Coupling stars. Although he does deserve failure since he was a bit of a shit when he upped and left Coupling, refusing to even speak to Steven Moffat.
