I'll echo what Griff has said. TS does like short sketches and some one liners.

Mikey J - Treason Show seems to be very different from NR in what they use

Yeah, I can see from those videos on the Treason website that their format tends to be "silly humour."

Yeah, I suppose, except that there ARE longer sketches posted on their website.
For example, the Paddington sketch lasts for quite a while.

I love that one.
I wonder who wrote it?

Did you get a chance to go and watch the Treason Show yet Mikey?

No, not yet. I'll probably go and see October's show.

The Paddington sketch was a great idea, Miliband Bros was funny, but, like I said before, the other skeches are... er... hmmm... especially that Cameron sketch which had no jokes at all in it, ...well, apart from the first Leslie Philips ding dong.

Don't get too focused on short sketches for TS - all the ones I've had in have been 1 min upwards. It's just that if you write a not-quite-your-best-work short sketch it may still get into TS because it fits the format, whereas unlikely to for NR.

I think it's Tom Johnstone but I can't remember.

Just checked old running order - yes it was. Don't know if he posts on here?

Your powers of recall are astounding!

I don't recognise his name... But that doesn't mean he doesn't, obviously.

The main difference I've found between NR and Treason sketches is:

NR tend to sway towards sketches based on actual events, i.e. if Gordon Brown's trousers ripped on TV, then they'd have a sketch about it.

whereas...

Treason seem to put famous people in different situations, such as Paddington at an advert autition, based on the fact that Paddington and Windy Miller had recently appeared in adverts... or making Cameron act and sound like Leslie Philips.

If say, someone was writing a sketch that needed to mention where Obama was right now, where would that be?

Like... Washington? Illinois?
What would work?

In some godforsaken small town in Ohio? He's campaigning...

Edit: I just looked it up. He is indeed in Ohio. Elyria and Akron, Ohio. :)

Thanks!

I totally couldn't find that out.
My googling skills are lacking today.

www.barackobama.com :)

Ooo. Tomorrow he'll be in Flat Rock, Michigan. That's a nice name.

Ooh.
I must have been at his old shitty website.
It really was an ugly bugger.

Are you attempting to get a NewsRevue credit, zooo?

Who?
Me?

That was a purely hypothetical question...

Well they let you in.

And me, which is perhaps more worrying.

So Zoo are you besieging fortress News Revue?
