Moving to the Writers' Discussion forum.
I've written one that got a very good reception on the critique part of the forum and really want to send it to someone myself. I'd be grateful for advice.
You could try putting together a batch of 10 sketches and sending them off to production companies. I've never had any success come of that approach, but I know people who have. A lot of it is to do with knowing who to address it to.
You could trying getting hold of producers as well who work on shows that your material may suit. Some will accept work from uncommissioned writers. I've managed to submit to a BBC producer before - you just need to ring people up and ask for contact details.
Apart from that, there's not many other choices for sketches. I say, sit on them and keep on writing. That way, when you do get a chance to submit, you have work ready to send off.
I'm new to this site and wondered whether it was worth posting a whole sitcom episode on the critique section. I'd really like some feedback but don't want to send too much and also want to see what people think the value of posting a script is?
Thank you kindly !
Try News Revue and Treason Show both have threads.

If they're topical sketches, then yes, send them to the two shows above.
Hi
Thanks for the replies
It seems to be closed doors for most but the people out there now writing for shows must of got in some how. I have tried contacting a lot of places but they don't seem to want anything sending in,
I don't want to waste time sending to the wrong people and place is it really worth while trying to get my work seen' maybe i'm just dreaming to think that one day my work could be on tv.
Cheers

What do you want to do?
Hi Marc
I would like to write sketches that get used in a tv show, like a Harry & Paul, kind of show.
Cheers

Is it easier to get work for radio, i don't listen to any radio that have comedy scripts on them.

Hi
I have written about 15 although i have a lot of further ideas for sketches with the same characters and others, sometimes the ideas come to me that quick i carn't get them down, even when i'm driving, trying to sleep or even talking to someone else, my brain is in overdrive, sketches, sketches, sketches.
Lee
I hate forgetting ideas. Sometimes I'll forget an idea, and spend the rest of the day trying to remember it.

Anyone can write for tv comedy shows as long as you have funny ideas and a complete pig-headed refusal to accept defeat. As others have already said, rejection plays a major part in comedy writing and if you're in any way thin-skinned you'll give up and fail, like 99% of would-be writers do. It's the 1% that keep soldiering on and getting their stuff out there who eventually succeed. Unfortunately that's also why we have so much shit on the telly, because we have successful writers and producers in positions of authority who got there not through talent, but because they shouted loudest. BUT if you have genuine talent and shout loud enough, you'll get noticed, everyone will want to work with you, then you can f**k the UK right off, and move to the US and get rich with all the other truly talented people. Simple!
As to who to send your stuff to, don't ask first, just send. Send to BBC, Channel 4, Baby Cow, Hat Trick, Objective, agents, producers etc. Just watch programmes you like and start making notes of producers and company names on the credits. Then send them your shit. Keep doing that for weeks, months and years, try to get on first name terms with important-sounding people, write at least one thing every single day, and you'll get there in the end.
Good luck!

So when you're in bed with the Mrs (or whoever), you sidle up to her and whisper in her ear .....
"Interior....Bedroom....Night ... Lee is moving his hand slowwwwly up the inside of your soft, silk-like thigh......
Also ROughcuts, who like the commited Nun have so far rebuffed my advances.
