What's with the "made for TV movie" stuff? Do they not have the concept of a "special"?

It reminds me of another American teeney thing 'Swinging on a Star'. That girl, Evie, who lived with her mother and had a martian father that lived in a box thing on her bedside cabinet. Oh yes, and she had Doug McClure as next door neighbour. :$

Out of This World.

yes, it was the last thing they did. When they realized College Years was not a hit, they hastily shot the made-for-TV wedding film.

It was the first sitcom I (and many others around me) ever saw. Therefore it has a somewhat special place in my heart. Kinda like the first pop band you loved as a teen, and later, as you and your taste matured, realized how bad it actually was... but it is still your guilty pleasure after 20 years ;)

YES! Exactly. That's what is was for me.

Because we have specials ala Christmas specials and Halloween specials that are just special episodes of shows that might play outside of their normal viewing times. And then there are full out 'made for tv movies'. That are written like a movie instead of just a slightly different type of episode.

I loved it when i was younger . The first one i watched was the new class on the bigger breakfast( after the big breakfast on half terms) when got sky i saw the original one. I did like the college years , it's a shame they axed it. Also you heard that Dustin Diamond ( Screech) is releasing a book which promises to expose cast members and have sex , party, drugs and rock and roll.. can't wait to buy it !~!!!

Dustin Diamond is a f**king mess, much like your spelling and grammar. Pleased

Go now Leevil.

I have just been looking at the 'Saved By The Bell' page on wikipedia. The list of continuity errors is huge! Nevertheless I spent a considerable amount of time watching this when I was at primary school/early years of secondary school during the summer holidays on channel 4. Like many people this was probably one of the first sitcoms that I saw. I guess it falls into the 'So bad it's good' category. According to wikipedia 'Saved by the bell' gets a whole chapter in the book 'Sex, drugs and cocoa puffs in which the writer Chuck Klosterman says:

the show "is like this little generational secret that's hyperfamiliar to people born between 1970 and 1977, yet generally unremarkable to anyone born after (and completely alien to all those born before.)

I would disagree with this however as I was born only a few years before the show started. The book itself looks like a fascinating read though

Has anyone ever been to the toilet in the style of AC Slater?

A bit of a strange post I know, but I read about the phenomenon somewhere.

Basically, you sit on the throne back to front, just like Slater did when he pulled up a chair.

Supposed to be quite calming, albeit messy.

:)

Laughing out loud
I guess when you are facing that way your mullet can't rest on the toilet flusher too.

I believe ancient Japanese had toilets, where you sit exactly like that.

saved by the bell was the bollox, have you seen the attempted reunion by jimmy fallon...you need to see zack morris....youtube it....unbelievable!

I was probably the only American kid who wasn't obsessed with SBTB. I tried watching it once at a slumber party and got bored and ended up watching Treasure of the Sierra Madre with my friend's parents.

I liked this.

*hangs head in shame*

I loved this. I'm not that ashamed though. Used to watch it during study leave from my GCSEs mid-afternoon, too, in between revision slogging. :$

Love SBTB, I own some DVD's of it somewhere, bought them for cheap when I was on holiday in America. The ones where they are in the Malibu Sands are fantastic.
