Wasn't this supposed to be back this September? Anyone heard any news?
Recorded For Training Purposes
I must be dumb. I can't fathom out what RFTP means.
**EDIT** Now the thread title has been changed from RFTP to the show's unabbreviated name, this post now appears pointless.

I hope it comes back. Something to submit to!
Isn't 'Play and Record' rumoured to be coming back as well?
I've been told a new series has been commissioned but it remains to be seen whether or not they still want me to write for it.
Play & Record is definitely back (airing in November I think) but it is almost entirely cast-written now so no open submissions.
Good stuff. Cheers.
Alas, they didn't want me back but I'm still interested to see how a new series goes.
Aha, so THAT'S what it is.
I've never really delved into radio. Don't listen to it. Don't write for it.
Maybe I should though.
The last time I listened to radio comedy was in the days of Radio Active.
Yeah, it was.
I caught a show by accident, many many moons ago ... twiddling my radio ( anybody remember radios???) looking for something interesting.
Then I found that.
The episode was a Nuclear Debate and a very young Angus Deayton said "This is the Radio Active Nuclear Debate. Welcome back to our mass ... er.... er.. discussion."
I even purchased a record (anybody remember records???) of the best of Radio Active.

I think the first series of Play and Record was much the same, the non-commissioned writers only got to submit a couple of sketches, and from that roughly about three or four (from memory) non commissioned writers per show got sketches on, while the rest of the show was written by the cast/commissioned writers.

You're not wrong. It was a brilliant show. Pity the TV spinoff, KYTV, never really worked. Although it did get about three or four series.

I think you're right. My main point was that it's not open to submissions this time round like the first series was. The producer has asked about 30 people to submit sketches on a non-comm basis.

Gotcha, I suppose justification for the shutting of those doors, comes through Tilt, which is as open a show as you're likely to get on the radio.
Any word on Tilt's return?

No idea, but if Play and Record is coming soon, then I wouldn't have thought Tilt will be returning until at least after Christmas.
I doubt that will be back til next year.
