Mock The Week - 2007 & 2008 Page 25

The people who do the booking are obviously lazy and/or idiots!

Why do females always seem to stuggle on this show?

Because women just simply aren't funny. Fact.

Why do females always seem to stuggle on this show? Personally I think it's the booking. There's plenty of good female stand-ups out there who could hold their own on the show - why don't they book them?

Get Gina Yashere back on - she's one of the few women who they've had on MTW who doesnt seem intimidated by the regulars and is prepared to muscle her way to the mike.

She's pretty funny too :D

Is Michael McIntyre intentionally that annoying or is it a complete accident?

Why does he sound incredibly excited about everything he says no matter how shite it usually is?

It is a horrible show. Apart from Frankie Boyle who is occasionally brilliant the rest are terrible comedians.

Especially that Russell Howard. Awful.

Very true. She's back on in a couple of weeks actually.

I quite like him. There's a lot of deadpan comedians out there, it is nice to also have some out there who clearly show they're having a good time. I can see why some would find him annoying though (specially when he's on the circuit - lots of walking backwards and forwards)

I think she's terrible.

I agree. All she seems to have are jokes about calling someone a slag or stories about her mother's culture shock. Alot of black British comedians use that joke, but most do it better.

I also agree, she is awful.

I think McIntyre came off much better last week. The only joke reuse I recognised was his one about sailing to work, which he used in his Live at the Apollo episode (I was there :D ). It seems he's learned from his two awkward appearances this series and has actually managed to turn it into an angle for him.

I surprised myself by laughing quite a lot at Michael McIntyre last week. Normally I really don't like him but I think the above post is right - he seemed to have settled down a bit and stopped laughing at his own jokes and was actually funny.

How annoying, I'll have to find someone else to dislike now... :)

Russell Howard Wave

Noooooooo!

This Canadian bloke's (Stewart Francis) pretty funny imo.

No, not Stu Francis.

Most of his stand up bit had nothing to do with the topic, but he was funny!

Find this show more predictable old stand-up than witty satire.

Is the BBC dumbing down, what do you think Barry Chuckle?
