I got the impression that it's actually brewed with them, like cider as you say. I think it may have been called Fruli, if you wish to Google.

More likely just strawberry syrup.

QC was popular back in the day with the winos as was Mundies wine. Buckfast is still popular although it stinks. Cider wise, you had Olde English, Laser, Woodpecker and Strongbow.
