Sitcom Trial Script Page 5

You lost your temper at the begining of this thread when no one passed coment.

This idea was handed to you on a plate, and you've made a pigs ear of it as most of the others have said.

I'm drawing a line under this now, if you want to argue or loose your temper, you know my email, do it there, not in front of the good people on the BSG.

You're bang out of order and you know it.

I did not lose my temper on here, it's my naff sense of humour.
You have started this and tried to expose me as a plagiariser, which is ludicrous.
if you like I can cut and paste all the emails you sent me, one saying how good I am at dialogue.

Mods I think you should intervene here.
Ray is bringing a 'row' over from another site.

It's finished, done, i've made my point.

Put the script back up BB - I want to read it.

I think in future I might quote all critique submissions in full.

I put it back up for Marc who has read it now.
Sorry Godot

Except me who has no shame.

The martyrdom bomber fears not being one of the casualties.

And time for a breath, me thinks.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about character-inspired funny and gags / jokes. In actuality, it seems that when we define the terms in the first instance, rather than setting up stalls, we find we're talking about the same thing and we're only confused about what the terms mean to the other person. One man's gag it seems is another man's (or woman's) character comedy.

For me a joke or gag is something consciously put in by the writer with the intention of making the audience laugh, whether explicit / implicit; slapstick / verbal; hammed up / deadpan. If it fits in naturally and provokes a laugh, job done. Personally speaking. If a writer isn't consciously trying to make an audience laugh (by whatever device) then drama is the more natural option, surely?

Closed till further notice.

You can't just speak out to mods. Most threads are read, but not necessarily every one, nor every page. There is a report button at the bottom of each post. Use it.

as I suspected, it's just a clique on here Huh? Rolling eyes :S

Don't be so silly. It was up for less than 4 hours, and by all accounts, a long read - and many of us were meeting up in London, as has been said. If you had had no replies after 24 hours, then your comments may have been legitimate.

And Ray, stop making such accusations. Your tone is clearly confrontational, and such behaviour is immature and beneath you. You say in your own posts that she's used an idea, not the actual words of others. And unless she's actively sending it out with a view to commissioning as-is, I fail to see any grounds for complaint.

And just a bit of food for thought. You challenge bushbaby to conduct any further discussion about it via e-mail, but if you had raised it for any reason OTHER than to show her up publicly and cause tension, you would have done so yourself in the first place.
