1) They have had a bad experience in the past and have decided all men/women behave this way. This shows not only a lack of trust but a lack of respect as it's unfair to the other person to assume they will do the same as some git you dated before....

Or just a crushing lack of self-confidence.

I think they've been through a lot of stuff that I don't even know about, so I can't really comment on it. I only see that particular mate every now and then.

The girlfriend of one of my mates is convinced he's cheating on her, and thinks he was out with a girl, in Liverpool city centre, yesterday, when he was actually with me. He was thinking of trying to get hold of some CCTV footage of us, in a bar, to prove he's innocent. Does anyone know if he could do this?

Mark Thomas is always doing it. Not spying on his boyfriends.. Applying for CCTV footage of himself. I think he'll be charged for the pleasure though. Around £10 IIRC. As (I think) Ruby said, it's all to do with the Data Protection Act.

Any idea how long it would take?

By the way, it wasn't the girlfriend that asked for the footage, it was my mate who suggested it. He was probably only joking, but I was curious to know how easy it was.

That may be but it still doesn't excuse it.

Well not exactly 'excuse', no, but it ... Oh I can't be bothered.

Bless. :)

But anyway, whatever it is, it's between them.

I only knew that stuff cause I had to write a piece on the Surveillance camera players in college. They are a group originally from the US who perform in front of CCTV cameras as a form of protest. Quite bizzare but interesting!
