Ghostbusters 3

So, apparently Colombia are putting Ghostbusters 3 into development with the main original cast members (Murray/Ackroyd/Ramis) on board. The screenplay is going to be written by two writers from the American version of 'The Office'.

Mmmn... is this a good idea?

The first Ghostbusters was a classic. Ghostbusters 2 though? Had some good moments, but plot outflanked laughs I think. Plus it got a little too schmaltzy towards the end.

This will upset me no end.

Shitting hell. Make them stop.

...So this is what happens when doves cry.

Also, it's going to be interesting to see how much physical comedy the actors will be able to manage thesedays. Murray perhaps, but how much weight are Ackroyd and Ramis carrying between them thesedays?

Mind you, I love Bill Murray so much I'd pay to watch him do absolutely nothing. Oh, wait a minute, he pretty much did that in 'Broken Flowers'.

Blues Brothers 2000 did not change my opinion of The Blues Brothers.

Yes, it will most likely be shit but I'd be more then happy to see all those faces on screen together again.

Cool I'm with ya there.

They should only do it if they can guarantee there will be dialogue as good as this:

RAY:
Everything was fine with our system until the power grid was shut off by dickless here.

PECK:
They caused an explosion!

MAYOR:
Is this true?

PETER:
Yes, it's true. This man has no dick.

Ramis is a big fat bugger now.

I'd love to know how much Murray ad-libbed too. Some suggestions say, he pretty much riffed the whole thing. Unlikely though.

He does have a reputation for that anyway. When he arrived to shoot 'Kingpin', he basically threw away the script the Farrelly brothers gave him and improvised most of it. To their credit they didn't stop him.

I think they're all a bit too old now. Still, if they're gonna do it, let's hope it's good.

Obviously they gotten the bug after doing the voices for the new Ghostbusters video game.

which has been canned apparently. 90% finished.

Really? The game? It didn't look that great, so maybe it's for the best.

Yeh, the Ghostbusters in hell. I was well up for a bit of that on the wii.

Saw some footage on Player (Bravo). It looked very repeatative. I liked the slime gun though. Wii may have been more fun, I need to get mine 'fixed' again.

Murray in Ghostbusters is one of my favourite individual performance in comedy. If he ad-libbed - as he seems to do elsewhere - then that's pretty damn cool.
