Fines/Government support.
Librarians have a fairly decent wage actually. I think...

Where do you think your council tax goes?
Ah. I always wondered how they made money letting people read books for free.
Most libraries charge for everything else now too. *shakes fist*
NEW ONE! Cath Kidston.
Why the hell would I paid £45 for a chintz bed spread when I can get the same style of design in a charity shop or make my own for a fraction of the price?

No they don't. Libraries do a great job and are a great benefit to members of the community who usually get a raw deal from society. Especially the old. Leave em alone.
You can get free internet use in libraries

Because you might not be able to get one in a charity shop, and might not have the time or knowhow to make one.

That maybe but those kind of prints have been around for years, they are nothing new and yet suddenly people are willing to pay out a large amount of money for something their Granny has at the back of her cupboard. And to be honest, I think you would have to live on a island with no internet or shops if you couldn't find items similar to hers a lot cheaper. The only difference is her name is not on them.

Fraid not. I've just got that rare thing: a social conscience.
And back on topic, something that pisses me off is when new people are brought into the office and introduced to you, even though they're not in your department and you'll never see them ever again. So you've got to struggle to smile and think of things to say for nothing.

I'm actually strangely surprised that you're objecting to a brand such as that.

Which has what to do with charges for library services?

It's not the brand. They do have some nice stuff. It's the price. I find it a bit wrong for them to charge so much for something unoriginal.

If you had a social consience like what I have, you'd understand.

He did have one but he got a cream.
It pisses me off when rich bastards complain about not being able to afford to fly their private jets:
