I looove the smell of coffee beans and coffee shops, but I don't like drinking it.
So I'm no help to you. I shall retire to the other thread again.
Coffee
Not a fan of coffee Griff. If I do have it then it's black with two sugars.
Or a number 52 from the machine at work. Not sure what it is though.
Apparently it's one that's been picked by a monkey from a blue mountain, then shat out by a cat.
Failing that I use a stove top cafetierre, which I scrub out thoroughly on a regualr basis.
I use fine grade espresso coffee, preferably illi. Which I buy in small quantities and keep chilled.
I prefer to make it in mug sized portions, with a double portion of grounds.
Some say using beans from the freezer, freshly ground is better. But frankly I can't say I notice, I think a clean machine is the key.
The problem with the all in machines is they're hard to clean. The stove top ones can be dismantled into 3 parts. The Kalashnikov of coffee.
Anything that involves brewing is shit. Cafetierres are ok if you're making quantity.
Cappuccino is a nasty cup of hot milk with coffee. Latte's are similar but worse. Don't trust any one who like's such a coffee, unless they're a girl. Even so keep one eye open.
A person who likes instant coffee is capable of genocide or worse.
Camp coffee is ok though.
Coffee makes me gag tons. Even the smell. It's EVIL.
I like lattes. But I am a girl.
I like coffee with lots of milk and (must be) brown sugar.
All coffee from chains such as Starbuck is shit, the ratio of deep limescale removing cleaning to coffee produced is impossible. Order an espresso or an americano to see how filmy it is.
If you have to AMT, Neros or those funny little vans that pop up outisde Tube stations are ok. AMT do a quad espresso or americano that'll get you running faster than your train.
The only thing I like to order is a double espresso, with a little cold milk and hot water.
It's called a cafe anglais. Which sounds stupid.
Everything about Starbucks sucks, even their poncy named bags of coffee.
Especially as they're now do gooding, liberal swines.
I hate all hot drinks, but my Dad has a proper coffee machine which he makes his with, right from the actual beans.
I use a Carmencita for coffee making. I sometimes pretend it's a little Dalek.

I was thinking if you picked the Blue mountain beans then passed them through a civit, than a monkey surely that would provide the ultimate coffee?
I have the biggy, it gets a better result then a poncy over priced coffee shop.
And what's with even Sooty!
I forgot to include a picture. This is my Dalek Carmencita:
Finck has that Dalek just seen Rose bending over in tight jeans? Or perhaps the Dr in his pyjamas?
Do you think you could do the civit thing with a regular cat?

Yep. But I have a special little stove top for it. Like this one:

I just read Sooty's link about the Civet Coffee. He's not kidding. It has been shat out by a cat. Ugh. I'm not drinking that.
I won't either but that's because it costs 10 times what I usually pay.
Supermarker own brand is fine, Sainsbury's stronger African brands are surprisingly pleasant.
That is exactly what I've been looking for Fink, I'm going to see if I can get one on line.

Even more, I believe. About 1000 Euroni per kilogramm.
