Is Green Wing a feminist sitcom? Page 2

I'd say no. It has a feminine streak to it, yes, but that's not detrimental to the male characters or more 'masculine' aspects of the storyline.

As for the female fans, well that's debatable. My view is that women are just more likely to become obsessive fan-types, so whilst men do love the show, they don't feel the need to get together and go to conventions or whatever in quite the same way.

(Why they don't, or why women do, is beyond me, however.)

Or administrate forums about them......

I can't see any particular 'feminist' leaning in GW.

The character count seems about 50:50 and Sue White seems to match Alan Statham in lunacy. Trying to nitpick amongst the smaller detail strikes me as an exercise in pettiness.

Is Green Wing a feminist sitcom? No it's not.

You people are all wrong! Feminism doesn't exist anymore!

They got what they wanted. It's now post-feminism.

Well the ones who still aren't paid the same as men in the same job haven't quite got what they want yet.

Yeah... well... what about the porn industry! HAHA! My one example makes me winner of the BSG pseudo-sociology contest!

Do women get paid more or something?

Yes!

Maybe Ron Jeremy used to get more, but you'd pay more for that face.

This forum's awfully quiet isn't it?

It's all hidden away and that.

Do women get paid more or something?

Yes, much more. And I would imagine that there's a much higher amount of women-only porn than there is men-only or man AND woman.

Anyway. We're going way off topic now.

It wasn't my idea to establish this forum.

I know that it's been asked before, but...

Why is there a dedicated Green Wing forum?

It dates back to a while ago, when the BSG was the main source of Green Wing news. This site got updates about the show faster than most other sites, and the show quickly became of the BSG's favourites.

Genial!

haha cool I didn't know that.

It is weird that this show above all others got a dedicated wing. I quite like the show, but it's not that good. I'd much rather an Alan Partridge wing.
