Red Planet Comp 2008

Com-dram?

It says pilot for a series.
Now I always get the series/serial thing arse about tit.
Do you reckon they're looking for something open-ended with characters we can re-visit, or a single story line over several episodes?
ie Criminal Justice v Holby City.
(3-0 to Criminal Justice, by the way)

Thanks for this. Did they contact you or did you come across it on the site?

I'll have a proper look and give it a go.

PS Griff - I've loved the Molesworth books from when I was very young. Probably explains why Inever got to Grammar school.

It seems to be something like Roger Roger, Sorted etc - that kind of thing I would think.

Such a thing exists I must track them down. Even if I am naught but a town Oik.

And I think Molesworth might be my favourite books ever. Have you read the Simon Brett books where Molesworth &c are grown up ? Very funny.

I haven't. Something else I'll have to buy and never get around to reading.

finally! ive been waiting for something like this for ages. ive got a fully written drama pilot plus the next three episodes and i was working on the fifth one when i stopped to write a film script. talking of which im also entering that bbc film competition. thanx 4 posting.

So how many people are going in for this?

I've got the first 10 pages written plus plot lines and ideas for the rest of the series.

oo Maybe time to dust off the magnetic detective...

It's probably the best opportunity out there for new writers, so I'm definitely giving it a crack. But I'm way behind schedule.

So how many people are going in for this?

Might as well, got nothing better to do.

*types quickly like big fool*

I planned to go in for this, and came up with an idea. But 60 pages by the end of next month is a big ask, especially with some other projects on the go. OK, I know they technically only want 10, but if they ask you for the other 50 and you ain't got them, what will the harvest be then?

I've been fitting mine in around other things and got 30 or so pages done. But it's squeaky bum time now.

Yeah, but I haven't had Sitcom Trials to think about.

Is this the competion where you send Tony 'Hustle' Jordan your best ideas for a new TV programme?

Whistling nnocently

No it just takes some time to process stuff Griff. Give him a little longer.
