I wonder what people's opinions are on the funniest scenes in sitcoms. I suppose the obvious example is in Fawlty Towers with the Germans and Basil. However, personally, I've always loved the Bernard Cribbins episode where Basil thinks he's a hotel inspector, and when he finds out he isn't, he physically assaults him in the restuaraunt.
Any other great scenes that stand alone as just brilliant comedy set pieces?
Dawn French falling into that puddle in "Vic of Dib" was quite a chuckle fest. Also Ab fab's trip to France made a few samples of snot appear.
This one springs to mind:
Peep Show - Mark on the loo (without door) in front of Jeremy’s party guests.
O.F.A.H - The Chandelier!
Although FT throughout all episodes I reckon the most consistently funny.
just off the top of my head - Fawlty Towers: when Basil gives his car "A damn good thrashing!"... actually the way he says thrashing more than anything
Del boy falling through the bar is still my favourite, and Ricky Gervais in Extras when he's trying to chat-up that lady and he opens a bottle of spring water that fizzes everywhere and he tries to keep it in his mouth. Had me in tears.
