Mock The Week - 2007 & 2008 Page 21

I certainly don't think the show has run it's course but I do feel it's turning into the Frankie Boyle show more and more every week.

Which will be fine for the vast majority on here but for me it would get tiresome after a while as I just don't rate him very much.

The thing is, this will be Frankie's last series, so maybe he's going out with a bang. As it were. ;)

Is it really ?

Wow didn't know that.

Last series?

Bummer. :(

Who's going to replace him?

Last series?

It's not 100% certain, but a pretty strong rumour. On the show's Wikipedia page it says the following:
Frankie Boyle is rumoured to have announced at a gig at the Hen and Chickens Theatre, Islington, London that the current season would be his last owing to his disenchantment with the show's rounds.
(I know Wikipedia's not been the most reliable source in the past but it does seem to be getting better!)

Wouldn't like to speculate! It's still not certain, so he may still stay on. :)

:( Oh well. Hopefully he go on to even better things.

Just watched the repeat of this week's episode. Was Lucy Porter just hanging back out of politeness? She hardly said anything.

I think she's just quiet. Some performers love that environment and others don't like it so much. I know I've heard Mark Watson talk about something similar. He said that he always appears to be very quiet on these shows because he is, naturally, quite quiet.

Plus it's all in the edit.
You don't know how much she really said unless you were there, I suppose.

When Frankie gets angry, is he a bum on the boyle?

I of course agree with the person who said that the format creaks.. it is in sore need of a makeover. End of.

Btw I did see 10 mins of Buzzcocks this week and was captivated by Noel's team! What a funny man he is! :)

I watched Mock the Week last night and thought it was brilliant!

I knew I liked you Frankie.

I was just thinking the opposite yesterday - I watched HIGNFY and MTW one after the other on BBC2, and I was struck by how much more energy there was in MTW. (Apologies to Dave C. if he's reading - it's nothing to do with the quality of the scripted gags !)

That's OK. I understand.

Horses for courses!

There are always a few good bits on most panel shows if you wait long enough. I ration myself to about 30 mins of TV per week (3 x 10 minute slots) so I'm not prepared to wait long! :)

Noel is inherently funny, the sign of a true great in my opinion. For me he is head and shoulders above pretty much everyone else at the mo. And of course when he teams up with 'the other one' ;); it's sublime.
