WINSTON SMITH IS STRAPPED TO A CHAIR, HE IS WEARING FULL CLOWN MAKE UP.
O'BRAIN STANDS OVER HIM HE IS IN A NEAT SUIT, WITH FULL CLOWN MAKEUP.

O'BRIAN
We do not tell jokes to amuse, the comedy is power in it's self.

WINSTON
How can I ignore what is in front of my eyes? Knock knock jokes are not funny.

O'BRIAN
Some times they are Winston, sometimes jokes about paedophile superheroes are funny, sometimes whimsical jokes about Literature are funny. Some times all at once.

WINSTON
The party can not last for ever, nothing lasts for ever.

O'BRIAN
Shall I tell you what the future is? A custard pie slamming into a human face for all eternity.

O'BRIAN WHEELS IN A LARGE CAGE FULL OF MIMES, THEY LOOK, HUNGRY, DANGEROUS AND FRENCH.

HE POKES WINSTON'S HEAD INTO A HOLE IN THE FRONT OF THE CAGE.

O'BRIAN

These are mimes, French mimes, the most dangerous kind of comedian in all the world. When I pull the first lever they'll explode out like bullets and strip the flesh from your face. They'll do it silently and completely humourlessly.

WINSTON
It was funny, was funny. I admit it Allo Allo was funny and not a dreary farce that went nowhere.

O'BRIAN
Take him away he's truly broken.

WE SEE ON A WALL BEHIND HIM A STERN POSTER OF SOOTYJ WITH A RED NOSE ALA STALIN.

ON THE BOTTOM OF THE POSTER IT READS

Laughter is the only freedom, The only Treason is the Treason show.

That's a funny piece, Sootyj. Certainly makes clear your views on comedy. Is it written for the Treason Show, by any chance?

Clever stuff. Are the mimes in an invisible cage to start? :$

Nice one Robo I'll add that one.

Oh I love comedy Treason only does topical, why not sent them stuff you'd be their furthest writers.

Great.
