Quickie Cliche Sketch

May quite possibly have been done, seems quite an obvious one.

HORSE RACING TRACK - DAY

MANY HORSES ARE LINED UP IN THE BOXES AT THE START OF A RACE.

CLARA, a young lady, is sitting on a horse. This is the moment she's been waiting for, the race of her life...

STARTER:
Ready...

CLARA:
(PATTING THE HORSE'S HEAD)
Come on Windblown. Run Like you've never run before!

F/X: STARTER'S GUN

THE HORSES ALL PULL OUT OF THE BOXES AT SPEED. WINDBLOWN AWKWARDLY TROTS OUT. ALL IS QUIET AS THE OTHER HORSES HAVE PULLED AHEAD.

CLARA:
For goodness sake, Windblown you pedantic sod. Do you have to take everything so literally?!! Run REALLY fast like you've been practising for this entire film will you?!

WINDBLOWN BREAKS INTO A GALLOP.
CAMERA REMAINS STILL, SEE WINDBLOWN AND CLARA PULLING OFF INTO THE DISTANCE.

(CAN HEAR CLARA SAY: Next time I'll have you put down)

I like it, especially if it was filmed in a Technicolor/Cinemascope style.

Not sure calling the horse a pedantic sod works entirely, because it's surrounded by gentility. I think at that point Clara has to continue the tone, or go stark-staring apeshit.

I like it, Rob. It's your best horse sketch.

Hey, what is it with you and horses? I'm getting worried. :$

Instead of 'pedantic sod' you could say, Windblown, you 'orse (arse) geddit? He he

..or Windblown, you pedant!

I think it's a good sketch anyway.

Good one, Rob. Maybe you could have the horse running in a silly fashion - ministry of silly walks trot? The "...like you've never run before" joke might be clearer then, and CGI gives you a bit of leeway to make it quite ridiculous.

I really like it. :D

Think I'll just go with "you pedant" or remove that bit completely, go the gentle way. Otherwise would be a bit like My Fair Lady

Hey, horse racing seemed to fit nicely. Must have 'em on the brain

Thanks for the feedback, all
