Mock The Week - 2007 & 2008 Page 18

The only problem I have with this show is that, with a number of the guests, their jokes are so obviously pre-rehearsed that it offends me that this is proported to be spontaneous humour. Many times the topical issue being discussed is used merely to push an tenuously-related bit of old stand-up.

I'm not meaning to be down on Russel. I generally like him, it's just a case of feeling it's better to feedback on those flaws that hold him back rather than his moments of obvious success. It's wanting to see someone succeed and the best way to do that is to resolve the negatives.

Andy Parsons seems to get alot of flack. I actually like him. I think his problem though is that his routines are often too short. Look at Wheel of News, where he often tells one quick joke whilst everyone else does a much longer routine. Certainly for the way he does it you get the feeling that it isn't all that random and the 4 have been told in advance what the topics are so they can decide who will tackle what.

Yes I hate the round where the panelists have to add-lib a piece of stand-up on a topical issue.

I like Parsons too. Saw him once doing stand-up, very politcal but great nevertheless.
He had this great bit about Occam's razor

Someone's just showed me this Frankie Boyle cut scene at work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yjJFt3uFVw Laughing out loud

All the best bits are cut.

hahaha Frankies stuff about 'Animals' was inspired.

Yeah that was rather fun. He wants to cuddle a kitten. Aw.

What was that weird movement he did at the end?!
That made me laugh the most.

Brilliant. Even Frankie looked uncomfortable with some of the stuff he came out with. And Mitchell was cleeeearly extremely uneasy with it!

I love it when even he doesn't want to say what he's about to say.

Has Lucy (Porter?) said anything yet?

A bit!

LOL at Hugh Dennis

Yes.

"Alice is 16. At least she said she was. How much trouble are you in?"
