So silly Kim has her sitcom on WordPad, silly Kim has sent it off, but silly Kim's format doesn't show up the same on The Comedy Unit's computers, infact silly Kim's document

I know it's to do with the tabs in the paragraph section, but does anyone know an easy way to solve this or am I going to have to format this whole thing all day in another programme?

Silly Kim is really sad! ARGH!! Teary Love you...

Can you save as Rich Text Format? or is that Rich Text Format?

Although a question re: a script - you'll have better luck getting techie answers in the busier general.

Use Word, things don't f**k up with that.

If you don't have it get a bootleg copy, if you can't get that use open office... it's a lot better!

That quite probably won't help her at all in the current situation, though.

Kim, try converting your script into a pdf using something like this:

Yes, it should be easy enough to open in Word (or similar compatible application) and re-save.

Perhaps Google Documents?

Well she doesn't have to lose the original in order to open it in a new program. And there's no obligation to save changes.

With that pdf thingy she can print from WordPad directly into a pdf. Should be the easiest and quickest solution, don't you think? Especially as it's freeware.

Wow. Imagine reading an entire sitcom like that

sorry, I'm no help

I think Kim's worry is that opening the document in other applications might lose all the formatting and she will then have to spend all day redoing the alignment, underlining etc. (Not that I have any bright ideas that don't involve her installing Python).

Is that a program or a phenomenally dangerous bit of hardware?

Hey guys, thanks very much for everything. Griff is right I would have had to reformat the whole thing which took me DAYS! I have asked them to open it with wordpad, so far no one has responded lol.

I only have microsoft works and not everyone is compatible with that so usually wordpad is the answer but for a whole sitcom- BIG mistake!

You guys are amazing, cheers for all the help.

Oh and I like this!

Yep, unless the Comedy Unit want it in an editable format (which is unlikely).

I read 'edible' there. I better go and find something to eat now.

Yeah, you're right. They'd need additional software in order to edit it. Kim? Does it have to remain editable?

Did they tell you that explicitly?

I'd try sending it as a pdf first, because it makes sure they'll be able to read it. I don't think they'll refuse to use it further just because it's a pdf. You still have the original .rtf on your PC, so you can edit it.

Hope that helped. :)

Have you tried pasting the lot into Notepad (rather than Wordpad)?
