Just had an amazing gig, and had a very nice chat with a promoter who was there.
I am now sporting a bit shit eating grin... damn I want to do this for a living.

Well done Danny.
Thanks guys, I recommend anyone who hasn't done it to do it, the adrenalin buzz is amazing!
Congrats!
Is this the bit where you turn to drink? Cos of the post-amazing-gig comedown?

No thankyou. I think it probably helps to be funny.
I'd love to give it a go. I bet it's really exciting.
HUZZAH!
Not sure what that means but good on ya!!!
I think I'll stick to Karaoke.
Quote: Griff @ August 19 2008, 11:39 PM BSTI've only done it a couple of times and I loved it even though it is absolutely terrifying. Doing another gig in October, looking forward to that.
We should do a BSG gig... for a charity or something... there's enough stand-ups on here.
In real life I am really quite shy (as those people who met me know), but it's such a release, such amazing and although I love writing sketches it's instant feedback.
I've always wanted to try stand up, but I'm a long way off attempting it. I assume you need thoroughly rehearsed material.
I've always been better at rehearsed anecdotes than genuine wit or banter. I'm not sure whether this is helpful or not.
Congratulations by the way Danny!

I have a basic structure and developing some interchangeable bits that can go in and come out at will.
oo another that got me excited, didn't realise how much it was advertised... there were posters with my name on... had to swipe one... too geeky?

Never! Awesome. Awesome is what it is.
No way! You should have got them all.
Live the dream!! That's what I say. I'd love to do stand up, and every now and then, I will note down joke ideas, just in case I ever do it. The only downside to the life of a stand up, is the fact that it can be quite lonely.
It's a good feeling to have, enjoy the high baby.

absolutely agree with this. ive worked with guys who have been in the business literally decades and most of them are a bit ruined.
Which is why I am a writer first, last and always!!!
