Idea for Viz cartoon

Richard Madeley and his large Cock.

Capers Richard and his large Cock get up to in Hampstead/Camden borders. [ Cock obviously farmyard variety ]

Yes - I can imagine it.

Why don't you send it to Viz? Richard Madeley's cock should fit in quite well. It probably hasn't had much of a challenge in the last 20 or so years!

I imagine Richard's large Cock goading him to nick a bottle of Vodka in Tesco's, that kinda stuff.

Or taking over from Judy one afternoon...Oh the fun we could have with Richard's large cock.

I think that would really work in Viz. Can you draw?

Yes!

And where would he keep his cock?

in judy's pocket

I imagined Richard walking with his large cock on some kind of choke chain, like you would a Pitt Bull.

Richard's cock is aggressive, it has attitude and says the kind of things " gentle Rich " wouldn't dream of.

Does anybody contribute regularly to Viz? Is it worthwhile? I mean do you actually get paid decently or is it 100 Letterbocks pens?

You don't need to draw to submit to Viz. If you send them a script and brief description of each box then you'll be ok.

I submitted something ages ago, but they didn't use it. They replied after a couple of weeks and said that I shouldn't hesitate to send anything else in, so they're quite open to submissions.

But that's not saying they'd use it - or how much they pay. Is it just the prestige? I haven't read Viz for a year or so now.

I think Nick Rivers has had something published in Viz. You'd need to speak to him re: payments etc.

They pay peanuts. Just about double figures. It's all about the kudos.

And quite a lot of kudos at that.It has in the past been an amazing Comic.

However would I be wrong to say it has lost it's edge recently ?.

I bought a copy for the first time in a while and it didnt have me doubling over like it used to. Perhaps I am now too tired and jaded.!!!

I've never bought a copy. I was too young to buy it when I wanted to.

i have my £25 of kudos framed and hanging on my wall. having religiously read the comic as a yoof, it will always be my proudest writing achievement. and, for my money, viz is still funny; but only when i write for them.
