British Comedy Guide

Brits taking over Hollywood...

I'm going to be watching the box office quite closely this year, as British comedians are taking the lead in two of Hollywood's big films. Should be interesting...

Steve Coogan takes the lead in Hamlet 2 http://www.apple.com/trailers/focus_features/hamlet2/

Whilst Simon Pegg gets to chase both Kirsten Dunst and Megan Fox in How To Lose Friends And Alienate People (he has such a hard life!): http://www.apple.com/trailers/mgm/howtolosefriendsandalienatepeople/

I can't judge from the trailers whether the films are any good, but both previews made me laugh which is a good sign I guess?

(I'm mightly pissed they've put the release of the new Harry Potter film back almost a whole year - I was really looking forward to that)

WHAT?! They've put it back?! Until whennnnn???! :O

July 2009. Writers' strike.

Writers strike? What has the strike got to do with Harry Potter? :/

I was lead to believe that they're almost finished in post.

Yeah that's really f**ked me off too.

I love it when Harry Potters come out at Christmas. It's a very Xmassy thing to do.

Really pissed off.

The film is ready to release in November, but the studio didn't have a Summer blockbuster, so they moved it.

WANKERS.

They put it back to guarantee Warner Brothers a summer blockbuster. They're rubbish movies anyway, I don't see what all the fuss is about. :S

Oh shuttup.

You're on my naughty list now too.

ANGRY NOW.

Didn't like the films either, but was looking forward to this one as the first one that looked promising from what I saw in the trailers/production bits.

I didn't realise anyone thought they were any good. :S

They sort of pale in comparison to the books, don't they? You can't condense the story lines down without the quality suffering. None of them can act either, it's cringe inducing!

Hopefully everyone will download it instead and they'll end up with no takings at all. FUCKERS!!!

:)

I like the films and the books. They're fun.

(Don't you like LOTR?...)

Me? Yes. Films and the books, but those films were made by people who really liked the books. They weren't just a cynical cash-ins.

Well, to me the Potter films are made by people who care about it.

Not the studios obviously, but I doubt that's any different with LOTR.

Most. Hilarious. Post. Ever.

They aren't even a unified production team are they? Don't they have different directors/producers for each film?
