Mock The Week - 2007 & 2008 Page 14

I liked what Frankie said about him not being able to go near 'the girl who plays Hermione' for legal reasons.

I did an actual gasp. :)

I watched 10 minutes and I have to say it was better than Lab Rats!

So many great lines this week.

"Here come the winners to collect their medals, and their complimentary prawn crackers"

"Here's the Chinese coxless fours. It sounds like a harsh punishment, but that's what you get for losing".

Laughing out loud

Russell Howard was particularly great tonight, I thought. Very funny all round. :)

I think I'll start watching this again, I did used to like it but I think it clashed with something. Thanks for reminding me about it.

Thank God that Aussie didn't go on about his artificial foot again. David Mitchell was brilliant tonight, we need to see more of him on the show.

He's on next week I think. The guy's a genius. I really like that sort of angry political humour, him, Marcus Bridgestock, Bill Hicks and Jeremy Hardy. All brilliant.

I really was expecting another showing of the fake leg.

I thought he was trying to go down that path when he mentioned the paralympics. :)

I knew you'd respond with something like that. :P

He's ... Well we've been there before. He needs a new spiel though.

'Mock the Week' - good programme, very funny and always hits the mark but, and it's something that's been bugging me for a while, the panalists on 'MTW' are now part of the new comedy elite that are always popping up on other comedy panel shows like 'Would I Lie To You' and the like. It really does put me in mind of the 70's when it was always Jimmy Tarbuck and his gang that were the comedy diet of the day whether you liked it or not.

Mock The Week is total f**king balls. Hope this is insightful. Cheers!

I was going to ask if I was the only person who thought this show was poor, but evidently not. The format is rubbish. The only round that really works is the one at the end, which they pinched off of Who's Line Is It Anyway.

Dara is an amiable host, but he is coasting; Frankie is funny, but too much of a one-trick pony to be a regular; Hugh is good, but lightweight; Andy appears to be asleep; and Russell is the least funny person ever to have appeared on my television screen. And I am including Gordon Brown in that.

Of the regular guests, only Ed Byrne and the always excellent David Mitchell really do anything to raise the standard.

Give me the News Quiz on Radio 4 anyday.
