Talking of fake accents I always thought the English girl in Frasier sounded very strange. Yes - I know she is English but she did accentuate the pronunciation somewhat.

Jane Leeves isn't from Manchester.

Yup!

She just has a normal, posh-ish English accent in real life, she was putting on the Northern one.

Yeah.

Who said she was?

I call it 'Liz Hurley syndrome'.

The bird from series 2 of Dexter suffered the same problem. Charlie Hunnam (the kid who played Lloyd in Undeclared) also.

It's easily done though. When you're in the States and everyone's cooing over your smooth British accent it's only natural to start pronouncing your aitches all of a sudden.

Who? Jaime Murray? Haven't seen it yet but she is gorgeous in an ugly sort of way.

I was talking about a phenomenon rather than a specific person. I have no idea who this Jamie Murray fellow is or whether he's gorgeous or not.

I think he means in Dexter...

Riiiiight. In which case, yeah.

It's Jaime Murray. The girl in Dexter who was also in the Hustle - as if you didn't know!

She has the name of a boy that's been spelled incorrectly.

Anyhoo.

According to an interview I saw with her recently, she was named after Jaime Sommers the original Bionic Woman. I guess if you grow up with parents who do that sort of thing, you're quite likely to go into showbiz.

Apparently her dad said she'd never make it. He's now doing adverts for compensation.

(Wonder what her mum looks like)

<uncomfortable pause>

Anyway...

I liked Friends. It was genuinely one of the best sitcoms ever written. It's so easy to just watch over and over and over again. Especially when there is *so* much shit on 300+ channels and you'd rather 'just watch Friends again' on E4.

Chandler Bing is one of the all-time great sitcom characters in my opinion. The wise-cracking makes a lot of the laughs in the show, especially the pairing of the wise-ass with the idiot; great conflict therein and thus great comedy potential.

[On Rachel bringing a second person to Ross's 'thing']:
Phoebe: Who's 'number two'?
Chandler: Ah, 'Whose Number Two?' -- one of the more difficult games played by sewage workers...

Dan

Joey: Wait a minute, did you just make up all that stuff just to get out of being my agent.
Phoebe: (in a coy tone) Oh, you caught me. I am so busted.
Joey: (in a really, really bad Italian accent) That's-ah what I suspected-ah.

Cracked me up
Ahem!
Ok you had to have been there.

Friends was very good indeed.
Definitely deserves to be up there with the best.
A little bit below Seinfeld, Cheers & Frasier IMO.

good show shame they killed off Heckles early on, I thinkthat's why Frank Jnr. was brought in, as the resident 'eccentric' character
