Favourite comedy films Page 5

Oddly enough, I'm not a big comedy film fan... largely because I've seen so much crap in the genre :) I used to work as translator of Hollywood movies/series for a TV station (i.e., I translated the scripts, later read by actors), and thus during that 4 year period I saw soooo many bad flicks I'm burnt out ;)

Those few that are in my top list:
Some Like It Hot
The Great Race
Life Of Brian and, to lesser extent, Holy Grail movie
What Women Want
some Jim Carrey movies, I suppose. Liar Liar

There are many 70s and 80s French comedies I remember seeing in my teens and totally loving them, but I'm pretty sure noone would know them anyway.

I do love to sit with my kids and watch some latest cartoons - Shrek, Madagascar, Over The Hedge, Ice Age, Cars, etc. - the problem however is that we never agree when to laugh ;) What's funny for them is not for me, and vice versa.

As for my 5 favourite film these are,
1. Animal House. (TOGA,TOGA,TOGA,TOGA,)
2. Bruce Aalmighty.
2. Ace ventura film`s.
4. Forrest Gump.
5. Back to the Future films.

That's eight films, troll boy. Clearly your maths is as bad as your English.

I can't stand all of those 3D animated films, personally. Just don't like them at all. Bring back proper painted-cell animation, I say!

I'll confess to liking Toy Story 1 and 2, which are just as good as any of the so-called proper animated films.

Must say that I found Guest House Paradiso hilarious starring Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson.

Wow! I'm not the only one. I really like it too Wave

My fave comedy films though are probably:
There's Something About Mary and Me, Myself & Irene

I'm not going to do a list. I'll just say; Trains, Planes and Automobiles.

Borat... loved it

Borat was good, but I'd rather watch the t.v series, if I had to choose.

Dr Seuss, Dr Venkman, Doc Brown, Dr Kenneth Tinkle/Williams, Dr No..

Dr Shipman took it too far though when he was on screen a while back.

Dr Strangelove though - eh? Classic!!

Meet The Parents
Groundhog Day
Mrs Doubtfire
Holy Grail
Johnny Dangerously (An old Michael Keaton spoof gangster film which is the funniest comedy I've ever seen.)

I got borat on pirate d.v.d, (don't tell the feds, i'll end up in prison as someones "tasty little sweet thing") anyway, it is very good, i'm not sure if it's in the top ten funniest but it certainly is better in my book than ali g, i think life of brian, meet the parents, i think shrek is ahead of the class when it comes to 3-d animation, the writing is just superb, i also like something about mary.

We don't have "feds" in England. :P

And after reading this post all the way through, I have now become wise with what I shall refer to as 'Chipandalegate'. Perhaps he was just some sad and lonely yet misunderstood misfit, who's only claim to fame was to end up as Aaron's signature. (pause for effect) Ah well, shit happens.

But as for my favourite comedy film, and as I seem to be the only one who actually liked it at the time of release, it was Ishtar.

Those were the days, he was a little tinker.

Incidently wheres Wheeler these days?

Yeah where is Wheeler?, maybe Chipandale was so hurt at Wheeler taking the piss out of his brilliant spellan (yes that is intenseional (as was that)) that chipandale has kidnapped him, he sent a ransome note to me a few weeks back but i couldn't read it. Wasn't wheeler a moderator?
