I murdered a spider today and I feel so guilty. It was on the toilet seat so I just knocked it into the bowl and flushed, but it wouldn't go down, it took three attempts.
I don't know what to feel more guilty about, the spider or the waste of water.
I once killed a gnat and it left a stain on the wall and it wouldn't wash off and it haunted me for ages, until the wall was painted over.

I remember we heard as kids that if you put salt on a slug it melts...so we did that but before long we could nearly hear it screaming in agony so we took it turns to drop big pebbles from heights in an attempt to put it out of its misery but we were too scared to do that so we kept missing. I have felt guilty about that slug for my whole life...

I've done it in the past. I can assure you there were no screams at all.
