Should have left it to the Fembots.

Oh! Vanity by The Charlatans. Best album give-away ever!
With which paper this time?
It was available to download free from the Xfm website a few months back, actually.
Travelling Wilbury's
Sam Sparro. Not impressed actually.
Starlings by Elbow. My friend who bought me their album for my birthday was right to be be smug about his choice!

Ah, ok then.
I bought one of those cheap compilations in Woolies for £3.
It's a Rod Stewart one from the 60s. All pre-fame stuff from people connected with him and there's a great version of Cry me a river by Long John Baldrey and Steampacket.
Quote: Aaron @ August 10 2008, 6:35 PM BSTI just heard this abomination unto the zooo whilst in the gym.
Credit to those poor studio engineers and producers though, who have somehow tweaked the wailing, warbling garbage to sound like the original.
Not as good as the Divynals though (or however you f**king spell it) .

Do you break out in a semi whenever you see an album you don't already own?

Divinyls. That's what I meant.
No One Would Riot For Less by Conor Oberst now. I realllly hope I get to see him later in the month.
I touch myself is pleasantly mediocre in a mediocre sort of way.
Quote: Griff @ August 10 2008, 7:37 PM BSTThe Divinyls are absolutely shit and that record is a crime against humanity. I was living in Oz when it came out and suddenly everyone reckoned they were the new Beatles or Stones because finally an Aussie band had managed to make a record people in other countries could bear to listen to for once.
But it is an amazing song.

I was going to say Crowded House could do that but then Iremembered they're from New Zealand.

I remembered reading years ago about Elton John going and spending a couple of thousand pounds on records. Oh - how I envy him (for that only I might add!)

How about INXS?
