Song: Rehab

As the songs seem to be popping up a bit, here's one I wrote just when Amy Winehouse was *actually* going to rehab a few months back. Nobody liked it/wanted it.

REHAB
================

(AMY WINEHOUSE, SINGING TO THE TUNE OF ‘REHAB')
I've finally got to go to rehab, yes I know, know, know
Took grade-A smack and piped a lot of crack on YouTube vid-e-o.
I suddenly found the time, and mummy's said no more lines
She's finally made me go to rehab, and I'll go, go, go.

I'd rather not be in jail with Blake
In there it'll only be drugs I take
'Cos he's safer in there, safer than out here
Where I'll probably beat the shit out of him...

I like something in a small shot glass
Chased by a pint of whiskey and spliff of grass

I've finally got to go to rehab, yes I know, know, know
Injected some smack and piped a lot of crack on YouTube vid-e-o.
I lost my beehive hair, but the Grammy's didn't care
I look like an anoxeric transex-u-al

The doc said 'Why do you think you here?'
I said 'I heard you've got good beer'
He said 'We're gonna make you sober',
At last I'll be able to see clear

Mark Ronson's produced a mess
I feel I can finally confess

I've finally got to go to rehab, yes I know, know, know
I've smoked good grass and piped a lot of crack on YouTube vid-e-o.

I don't ever wanna drink again
I just have too much money to spend
I'm not gonna spend the hundred grand
I got for 'Valerie', just to re-offend.

And it's not just for the Grammy's
I got five, you know, not bad for a tranny!

I've finally got to go to rehab, yes I know, know, know
Afghan smack, Nicaraguan crack on YouTube vid-e-o.
I suddenly found the time, and mummy's said no more lines
She's finally made me go to rehab, and I'll go, go, go.

(Original lyrics:

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab but I won't go go go

I'd rather be at home with ray
I ain't got seventy days
Cuz there's nothing
There's nothing you can teach me
That I can't learn from mr hathaway

I didn't get a lot in class
But I know it don't come in a shot glass

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab but I won't go go go

The man said 'why do you think you here'
I said 'i got no idea'
'I'm gonna, I'm gonna lose my baby
So I always keep a bottle near'
He said 'i just think your depressed
Kiss me here baby and go rest'

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know

I don't never wanna drink again
I just ooooh I just need a friend
I'm not gonna spend ten weeks
Have everyone think I'm on the mend

It's not just my pride
It's just til these tears have dried

They tried to make me go to rehab, but I said 'no no no'
Yes I've been black, but when I come back you'll know know know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab but I won't go go go
)

I quite like it, pity nobody that matters did. Do you think it's possible for a song to be too obvious, like a bad pun or a bit of a groaner, and thats why nobody wanted it? Or is it that it's just not good enough?

Not bad for a tranny. Laughing out loud

I found it really funny, maybe it's just at the time they had too many on the same topic?

Yeah, I reckon that's it. I remember Griff's Perjury being in the next few running orders (as well as two or three other Amy sketches), so put it down to that.

Very good btw, Griff. Git.

Dan

Bum. It might have been the only one had he not sent that email out.

:(

Dan

Ah, go on then. Might as well.

Will send the Gordon Brown one too ;)

Dan

That Perjery song is good... but I thought parody songs had to be similar in rhymes to the original.
i.e. your first verse is similar to the original, but no more are.

Mind you...it works, that's the main thing. :)
