Home Again. That was rubbish.

Dan

The direction was the worst part of that show!

Personally, as regards 'unfunniness' and bizarreness parading as a humour substitute, I think we are absolutely spoiled for choice in recent times (by which term I include most of the last three decades).

Each to their own obviously, but I think an extra special mention must go to 'The Office' for the sheer number of people who were suckered by unwarranted hype into extolling its non-existent virtues.

Those who are wondering what I mean should consult the fairy tale 'Keiserens Nye Klaeder' by H.C. Andersen.

Sigh.

I love it when people insult fans of a show they don't like rather than the show itself.

Shows such great people skills.

I tend to react against anything that is over-hyped. Shows like Alan Partridge, Spaced, The Office etc. are not definitively bad, they are just meh. Didn't get Nathan Barley at all though, and I can't watch The MIghty Boosh for five minutes without wanting to slap that smug, simpering long-haired twat. Benidorm is near enough gag free.

For definitively bad you have to go back to the Seventies. They were the best of times, they were the worst of times: Are You Being Served, On The Buses, Hi-de-Hi, Love They Neighbour, It Aint Half Hot Mum...

But that's just so silly.

That's just as bad as people (sheep) who LIKE something just because of the hype.

Both equally as ridiculous.

I prefer to be a mule to a sheep.

Ha! Poor David.

... and both, sadly, extremely widespread...

Be neither, be a stallion!

(I don't know what that means, but let's pretend it makes sense)

Rolling eyes

Quick, slag off Spaced Jolanta! He'll want to marry you!

I largely agree with Timbo's first paragraph. I know what he means. There's a tendency to look over it with a more critical (sometimes unfairly) eye when it's been hyped up, or when there's already something about it you don't like (for example an actor).

:D

Weak minded fools! The lot of you!

I largely agree with Timbo's first paragraph.

And are showing commendable restraint by not reacting to the second paragraph.
