It probably would've distracted from the movie anyway. He's far more evil as an unknown quantity. Any back story would only serve to humanise him and detract from his pure malevolence.

His back story doesnt really detract from the fact that he's a mass murdering psychopath

Wait, Jack Nicholson's background as the Joker was explained somewhat.

It was an adaption of the intro from the Killing Joke.

Ye but Joker killing Bruce's parents was just a plot convience really.

I', did you see Jonathon Ross in search of Ditko the other night?

I did. Thought it was self indulgent clap trap. I invented Spiderman. No I did ad finitum.

What are peoples views on the new X-Files film? I was thinking about seeing it, but then checked it up on rottentomatoes!

Bloody hell! I'm out of here sharpish. Already caught the end of the film now anyway :(

Yeah, I think it should be kept spoiler free to not ruin it for people who haven't yet seen it. Or any other film for that matter. :)

I liked the Jokers own constantly changing history. I don't want to keep going over origin plots.

Some things that jarred me with 'Dark Knight':

There wasn't much backstory to the Joker's past.
The Joker gets caught at the end and that's it from him. I was hoping for some little twist.
The Joker is in an interview room and he's taunting a cop about how he killed his friends. The cop goes to beat him up, but then the next scene is the Joker with a gun to the cop. How the hell did that happen?!
I thought Bale's acting was pretty average. He really seemed to lack emotion as Bruce Wayne.

Spoilers ahead:

Why would you want to know The Jokers back story? Its scarier that he's just this unexplained force. If you explain it, you make excuses for it and some of the powers gone. It's the unkown and the irrational that is scary. It annoyed me when he mentioned how he got his scars, but then he tells a different story later, which I liked because it meant his past was still unknown. Yes, The Joker was explained in Burtons Batman, but was he at all scary? Nope.

As for the Joker just getting caught, the twist was that he had basically won; he'd turned Harvey Dent from Gothams great hope to an insane monster.

Scary? Errr

Scary? Errr

It aint a brightly lit comic story this film; it's dark and adult. Watch it and then comment Mr Aaron! Though you don't actualy watch films, do you . . ?

I genuinely think the film should've been rated higher than a 12, it was a proper messed up film noir thriller. It was good that the Joker was the star of the show also, rather than Batman, which was another revolutionary twist on the genre.

Rarely. But scary? Come on. You big baby.

It's not that dark and adult its more T for Teen. More adult then Spiderman and Fantastic for granted.
