Because it's not a Batman thread. Perhaps?

That was more a general "Why haven't you seen it yet?"

That was a nice little touch.

Said Ian Huntley.

But his wasnt the future my mother warned me about.....

Saw it few weeks ago looks cool. Wonder if they'll tie up the series and the films or just reboot to the future and take elements of both. Who knows.

Hopefully Bale won't do that ridicolous gruff voice which makes him sound like he's shouting through a wall of socks.

I'm hoping it's set fully in the future. I didn't enjoy the last one. Although I had to buy it to complete the series (so far).

What did you think of the TV series? I gave up, after about the 4th epidode I think. Did it get any better? If you watched it that is.

:D That was the only thing that 'got me goat' about The Dark Knight. But I let it slide.

Meant to ask you yesterday, did you see Jonathon Ross in search of Ditko the other night?

Didnt see JR was it good?

TV series was...trying. The hot chic Terminator went from fully humanoid acting to really awful Arnie impersenation in 2 episodes, they did a little bit of post Dyson Skynet history but nothing really to write home about, the title was ridiculous really "Sarah Conner Chronicles" Sounds sooo stupid.

Also Kyle Reese's brother came back and is a rwgular so thats another annoying thing.

Still not sure what Model Terminator she is yet but apparently even the ones reprogrammed go nuts and kill in the end so I was holding out hope but didnt happen.

:D I may watch them at some point, maybe.

JR was pretty interesting. Ditko came across as a very straight (in the 60's way), while Lee came across as the 'hip' one. Lee hasn't spoken to him since he left Spiderman. Ditko wasn't happy the Lee took credit for the creation of Spidey and wanted a co-creator credit. Lee ended up writing to him but he rejected the letter because Lee had said that he 'consired' Ditko to be the co-creator, not that he 'was'.

Lee still didn't concede that he the co-creator was when pressed by Ross. So he looked a bit of a shit in the end. Ha Ho.

I meant to watch that and for some reason totally forgot.

Bloody senility!

Some things that jarred me with 'Dark Knight':

There wasn't much backstory to the Joker's past.
The Joker gets caught at the end and that's it from him. I was hoping for some little twist.
The Joker is in an interview room and he's taunting a cop about how he killed his friends. The cop goes to beat him up, but then the next scene is the Joker with a gun to the cop. How the hell did that happen?!
I thought Bale's acting was pretty average. He really seemed to lack emotion as Bruce Wayne.

I think that's the point, isn't it? As far as I'm aware his back story is always sketchy.

Forgot to say. It was good up until the end. Chats with Alan Moore, Stan Lee & Neil Gaiman (among others) culminating with Ross & Gaiman traveling to New York (I think) to meet Ditko.
So they're outside his building, then Ross phones him asking for a chat etc. Who the f**k is Jonathon Ross? is all I imagine he thought, and he said no. So Ross says 'Let's go up and knock on his door. Oh, but you stay here' referring to the crew. WTF I watched the whole program hoping for a interview, and he goes up with Gaiman crewless and emerges with comics 'n' stuff after a 'they spent loads of time chatting' (to paraphrase).

I was pretty annoyed I can tell ya.

There are a few different versions

REd hood etc so they prob just kept it vague save upsetting fanboys

It probably would've distracted from the movie anyway. He's far more evil as an unknown quantity. Any back story would only serve to humanise him and detract from his pure malevolence.

What about my other points though!!!

I quite liked the film though. I didn't dislike it. I really liked the twists to the plot that kept coming.

Bloody hell! I'm out of here sharpish. Already caught the end of the film now anyway :(
