Misheard lyrics?

I was writing a song parody based on Creedence Clearwater Revival's Travellin' Band. Now I am big CCR fan, but I have never before sat down and read the lyrics. I turns out that I when I had heard John Fogerty belting out the lyric "Well I'm fine Rosalind" he was actually singing"Well I'm flyin' cross the land", which in context does admittedly make a lot more sense.

Has anyone similarly misheard a lyric?

Wasn't this thread already done a couple of weeks or summats ago?

Hmm, kiss the sky or kiss this guy.

Guess what I think that line is.

Thanks for that Da.

Added to my favourites because I like this kind of thing.

Sorry bout that; maybe before I joined. (Despite my absurd post count I am still quite new here.)

Ah well, just ignore me I'm a twat :P

Anyway, I used to think Ride on Time was 'an orangutan'.

Doesn't Charles Manson hold the record for this?

In Helter Skelter he misheard the line "When I get to the bottom I go back to the top" as "Smear Sharon Tate's internal organs across her living room wall."

:O

I've never misheard it as that in my life, but will do forever from now on.

You're welcome! :D

Of course Ride On Time was misheard anyway.

Loleatta Holloway, who Black Box sampled for their 1989 classic, does not actually sing 'Cause You Ride On Time. She's actually singing 'Cause You're Right On Time.

So there you go.

I thought it was "right on time" anyway. Go me. \o/

Just heard the new Busta Rhymes/Linkin Park song 'We Made It'.

Thought they were saying:

'Together we made it,
We made it with our nacks against the wall.'

Which sounds painful.

When I was little I thought The Carpenters - Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft was 'Calling Octopus'.

When I was young I thought the lyrics tho dirty old town were dirty old cow, and used to sing it full volume in my nans car, while she tried to correct me but I wasn't having any of it.
