I was going to say that, but Wikipedia says it's an English idiom as well. Apparently it indicates mock humility, which in turn must be subtly mocking the perceived arrogance of the French.

Ooh, crikey.
That was actually the name of my school, you made me feel all funny.

I know!

I'm only a teeny bit one of them foreigns.

Like a finger's worth. It didn't come with any language skills unfortunately, or the ability to tan. :(

Both (inabilities) are good points!

Aaron will explode.

Negative.

Quote: PhQnix @ July 28 2008, 7:12 PM BST

He'll read everything when he gets back. He'll respond to half of it as well...

Pleased

I wore my hair in a french plait today - apparently it's a very 90's look. How was I meant to know?

Why's it a bad thing anyway? :/

Well, apart from the French bit, obviously.

Quote: Paul W @ July 29 2008, 1:28 PM BST

If I knew what a French plait was I'd agree.

You could have done what I did, and Google it. Pillock!

Quote: Scatterbrained Floozy @ July 29 2008, 1:57 PM BST

I couldn't hit him with a wooden spoon, could I!?

... Why?

Quote: zooo @ July 29 2008, 2:10 PM BST

They don't even have salmon in Scotland!

They've no bears to catch it for the supermarkets.

Ha!

Quote: Scatterbrained Floozy @ July 29 2008, 2:06 PM BST

It wasn't! Laughing out loud We phoned up and it's all fine. Came overnight from Scotland.

That's some back-pressure build-up!

Quote: Leevil @ July 30 2008, 2:32 AM BST

I'm a moose *snip tedious repetition* I'm a moose, I'm a moose, I'm a moose!!

Moose motherf**ker, MOOSE!

That's what I am.

You're a f**king mentalist.

Some people do! They believe it gets rid of toxins. Yeah okay.....

Yeah, but if he's filling up numerous cups then one of two things will happen.

He will either drink them all at once and die of water poisoning, or drink them at a reasonably rate by which time they will have cooled and thus rendered the entire exercise pointless.

In summary, Simon's acquaintance is a bit of a dick.

Quote: Finck @ July 30 2008, 11:02 AM BST

(This brilliant theory of mine also explains why they can drink Pepsi in America, btw.)

Most boys in their late-teens look silly in a suit.

Took you this long to realise?

I've never owned a suit. One day.

HEY! There won't be any pesky communism around these parts! Angry

And the rest of us whose curiosity was piqued. ;)

I came across PhQnix on facebook the other day!
I say that as if it was by accident, but I typed his name in, obviously.

Well, yeah, but he's unlikely to for the rest of us!

I've just realised I've got a bit of athlete's foot.

Quote: PhQnix @ July 31 2008, 10:54 PM BST

To quote a great man "The 'cool people' can all go and f**king die."

That's pretty tame thinking there, PhQnix. You may turn into some kind of Care Bear or something if you're not careful!

Quote: Winterlight @ August 2 2008, 12:30 AM BST

Colin Jackson's?

Quote: Aaron @ August 2 2008, 12:30 AM BST

Well, yeah, but he's unlikely to for the rest of us!

So, so true. :(

Oh wow! Star Trek: TNG has just come on!

I woke up with a ringing in my left ear today. I also can't hear high pitched noises properly in the left ear. My doctor has told me it's hayfever.

Quote: zooo @ August 1 2008, 11:58 PM BST

Yo, zoooz is old skool, innit!
