What world would you live in? Page 3
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ August 1 2008, 6:47 PM BSTOkay, I'm bored and waiting for someone....
If you could live in any fictional world - that is the 'reality' or otherwise represented in any film, novel or TV show - what world would it be?
I think it's safe to say I already live in my own.
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ August 1 2008, 8:14 PM BSTYou are insane. It would have been an horrendous place. For the poor it was terrible, for the rich there was the strain of appearing respectable. It must have been pretty awful for everyone. Even the clothes were uncomfortable.
Nah, it would be crazy cool! I would be all rich and stuff and have a huge manor in the country, with many chimneys to be cleaned, and numerous horses to be kept and groomed...
I wouldn't prefer any other historical period to today (my inner historian knows that the shit/good stuff ratio is quite constant over time, so I'd be careful what I wish for).
If I'm allowed to be very specific, then maybe this: Being an inventor and universal scholar in the 18th century (like Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson or J. W. v. Goethe). They were f**ked up, too, though. So maybe not.
As to fictional worlds: Gosford Park, upstairs. With a gun.
Harry Hill's world.
I'd get those badgers on parade!
Or maybe the world of Sootyj's imagings.
Except that world would be rather scary, and a bit sticky.

And all the signs would be spelt in a weird way.
I would like to live in either the Boston of Cheers or the Seattle of Frasier.

I guess the New York of Friends would work out ok. My English accent would gain me acceptance with the beautiful people.

I never realised badgers could make someone get sticky...
If you leave the top off your magimix, when you chuck em in.
The Diana Rigg period Avengers' London - or Survivors' Britain if I was one of the Survivors.
