Super therapisy

A THERAPIST IS TALKING TO A MAN ON A COACH (WHO WE CAN'T SEE).

THERAPIST

So how long have you had this morbid fear of sex?

MAN

All my life, I fear any one I have sex with, will kill and eat me at the point of orgasm.

WE CAN NOW SEE IT'S SPIDERMAN ON THE COACH.

THERAPIST

Vagina-dentia is a fairly common phobia, in part man, part spider mutants.

SUPERMAN BURST IN.

THERAPIST

Mr Khalel this is most inappropriate, we will talk about your separation anxiety at 17.00 as agreed.

SUPERMAN

Sorry doc, but I jsut feel so sad all the time.

CRYING

If you loved me daddy, why did you put me in the rocket....why!

The beginning threw me as I assumed the protagonists were in transit. (I assume that should be couch?)

Analysing superheroes is tricky territory, as most of them are nutjobs anyway. The Spiderman gag works fine because although he is a complex character the joke itself is off the wall. However with Superman you are plugging into the hero's actual backstory. Superman is such a square that it is funny to subvert him, so that gag also kind of works. But I am not sure the two gags work together, if you see what I mean.

And why Mr. Khalel? Is that some sort of topical reference that means I have completely missed the point of the sketch? (I have been living in a tent for the last couple of weeks and am out of touch.)

Indeed especially if you bear in mind that Superman is a creation of Nietzsche attempt to define the human mind.

So like alot of jokes it isn't wholly original. More like a donner kebab brushed with mazola to keep it looking fresh.

In this skit I hope the original bit (Spiderman having the sexual neuroses you'd expect of a spider coming through).

Otherwise thanks for feedback, and I hope it was fun in a sort of Fred Bassett Daily Mail strip sort of way.

Liked it, shame if it's already been done, but I think you might be able to get away with it anyway.

n.b. the strip you put up is by John Kouvalic who not only am I great fan of, but I've met. He was a thoroughly nice guy, and he gives sweets out at his talks.

So I may chase the comic down.

Did your hair stand on end in the presence of the Dark Lord of Northampton? Did your eyes ring, and your ears vibrate? Did your brain pulsate as you received his unholy wisdom directly?

Yeah, that was the bit that worked for me.

I think Spiderman visiting a therapist could be an intriguing runner, and easy to film

His fear of rolled up newspapers, his sick urge to hide on toilet ceilings and watch people poop.

n.b. Marshal Law Takes Manhattan featured insane super hero hunter Marshal Law taking on a complete asylum full of Insane Super Heroes.

They all die horribly of course.

N.B. Griff you met him in his famous poly-amerous sexual warrior stage.

V for Vendetta was all about him not being to marry his wife, and their shared female lover.

Saucy devil

Don't forget his obsession with people's 'flies'.

Yes especially gobbling flies.
