I think it's more that boy geeks heavily outnumber girl geeks, so it's easier for a girl geek to pull a boy geek than vice versa.

That is true! I was Magenta last year and just cobbled it together! I only need underwear and lab coat this year it seems.

My musical geekiness is probably my downfall. I play in a brass band which is just below bagpipe cleaning in terms of musical kudos. I do get to play in some fffffffffffffabulous places which offsets it a little. Although D&D. sad sad sad. Any one wanna buy my Beano annuals?
